Tag Docket

Pricing

The meter is clients. Never links, never seats.

Charging per record makes people avoid recording — and a registry with gaps in it cannot answer the questions it exists for. So every plan includes unlimited links and unlimited seats, and differs only in how many clients you run.

Why the meter is clients

Tag Docket is a system of record. Its value is that it is complete: every tagged URL and QR code the agency produces, in one place, with who made it and what it said.

Put a price on each record and people stop recording. A media buyer near a link cap puts the next link in a spreadsheet instead, and the registry quietly goes back to having gaps. Charge per seat and you discourage the freelancer and the new hire — exactly the people whose links most need to be in it.

Clients are the number an agency already budgets by and bills its own customers by. They are also what the real costs scale with: GA4 calls and reconciliation grow with clients, not with links.

Never metered, on any plan

  • Links
  • QR codes
  • Short codes
  • Seats
  • Campaigns
  • History
  • Export

Creating a client is the only place a plan limit blocks anything.

Everything, every plan

Only the first two rows change. Nothing in the product is held back for a bigger plan.

How billing behaves when something goes wrong

The rules were written for the bad day, not the demo. Billing runs through Stripe; plan changes can also be handled by invoice.

14 days of grace on a failed payment

A declined card starts a grace period, not a lockout. Nobody loses their campaign history over a card that needed replacing.

Cancelling deletes nothing

Cancelling downgrades the organization. The history stays yours, and so does every link already in the wild.

A transferred client is never refused

Accepting a client from another agency completes even past your limit. The upgrade is suggested afterwards.

Export is always free

On every plan, at any time, with values written out in full rather than as internal ids.

Seats are uncapped

Add the freelancer, the intern and the account lead. A per-seat charge would discourage exactly the people whose links most need recording.

One thing is ever blocked

Creating a client past your plan’s limit. It tells you the numbers, and a retired client stops counting.

Questions people actually ask

Why clients, and not links or seats?
Because charging per record makes people avoid recording. A media buyer near a link cap puts the next link in a spreadsheet instead, and a registry with gaps in it cannot answer the questions it exists for. Seats are uncapped for the same reason: the people whose links most need to be recorded are exactly the ones a per-seat charge discourages. Clients are the number an agency already budgets and bills by.
What counts as a client?
A live client in your organization. A retired client is archived rather than deleted — its short codes keep resolving and its history stays — and it stops counting. Restoring one counts it again.
What happens when we reach the limit?
Creating a new client is the only thing a plan limit ever blocks, and it tells you the numbers (for example, 10 of 10 in use) rather than failing with a bare error. Minting, seats, campaigns and history are never capped.
A client is moving to us from another agency and we are at our limit.
Accepting a transferred client never blocks. The transfer completes, the client’s history arrives intact, and an upgrade is suggested afterwards. Refusing at that moment would be the worst possible first impression for everyone involved.
What if a payment fails?
A failed payment starts a 14-day grace period rather than cutting access. Cards get replaced and dunning takes days; locking an agency out of its own campaign history over a declined card would cost far more than the invoice.
What happens if we cancel?
Cancelling downgrades the organization and deletes nothing. Your campaign history is still yours, and export is always available and always free — values written out in full, not as internal ids.
Can we pay by invoice?
Yes. Billing runs through Stripe, and plan changes can also be handled by invoice — tell us when you request access.
How do we get started?
Request access. There is no self-serve signup: we set your organization up, and your team signs in with an emailed link — there are no passwords.

Bring the spreadsheet. We’ll set you up.
